  • Dulce Taylor, Director of Nursing Services

  • Mrs. Taylor is a very seasoned nurse with over 20 years of experience as a Director of Nursing in several Connecticut skilled nursing facilities in varying sizes up to 296 beds. She has extensive subacute experience and possesses excellent assessment, communication and problem solving skills necessary for a demanding short-term setting. She has also helped develop cardiac and pulmonary specialty programs.

    She has worked with Qualidigm’s Pressure Ulcer Coalition and has experience working with local hospitals in a preferred provider network with ACO and bundled payment programs. Most recently, she implemented protocols and obtained waivers to provide clinically complex care for challenging patients.

    Mrs. Taylor received her RN degree from St. Vincent’s Hospital School of Nursing in Bridgeport. She is certified for IV and PICC line insertion. In 2008 she was recipient of the Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing. She speaks Portuguese and French. We are pleased Mrs. Taylor is joining our team at Lord Chamberlain.

  • Mirella Geanuracos, Director of Admissions

  • We are pleased to announce that Mirella Geanuracos has accepted the Director of Admissions position at Lord Chamberlain. Mrs. Geanuracos brings with her over 14 years of admissions experience working primarily in a 134 skilled bed nursing facility. Mrs. Geanuracos’ past positions include being an Admissions Coordinator and Director of Admissions. We are excited that Mrs. Geanuracos has joined us and look forward to seeing her apply her diverse skills and talents on behalf of Lord Chamberlain and its residents.

  • Congratulations Ms. Kopka!

  • It was a very proud evening for Lord Chamberlain last night. Ms. Kopka received the Nightingale Award, celebrating her dedication and going beyond the call of duty for her peers and patients.

    Lord Chamberlain, Ryders Rehabilitation, and Lighthouse Home Care are proud to sponsor one of the colorful Adirondack Benches created for the “Share a Chair” Program. The “In Flight” bench was painted by the talented local artist Alicia Cobb. This program will benefit art student scholarships at both Bunnell and Stratford High School and Business Education Support Team (BEST) school mini-grants.

  • 4th Annual St. Vincent’s College Golf Tournament Sponsored by Lord Chamberlain Raised over $37,000!

  • The 4th Annual St. Vincent’s College Golf The Golf Tournament presented by Lord Chamberlain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center on September 8, 2014 at Oronoque Country Club was a great success. Not only did the tournament raise over $37,000 that will go directly to the Student Scholarship Fund but the tournament also had its first Hole In One winner!

  • Lord Chamberlain and Lord Chamberlain Manor Receive Bronze Quality Awards

    Lord Chamberlain and Lord Chamberlain Manor are 2014 recipients of the Bronze – Commitment to Quality Award for its dedication to improving the lives of residents through improved quality care. The award is presented by the American Health Care Association and National Center for Assisted Living (AHCA/NCAL) through the National Quality Award Program. The program honors facilities that have demonstrated their commitment to improving quality care for seniors and individuals with disabilities.

  • Lord Chamberlain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center is a Learning Center for the Health Care Workforce of the Future

  • Ryders Health is committed to helping to train the healthcare workforce of the future, especially Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs), who constitute the largest percentage of our nursing workforce.

    Rotations are also offered for students training to become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Advanced Practice Registered Nurses (APRNs), Dental Hygienists, and Physical and Occupational Therapists. Lord Chamberlain Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is proud to be affiliated as a Learning Center with many area educational and health care organizations in a partnership to facilitate the training of these committed individuals.

  • What Is Quality? Third in Our Photo Series

  • Amber, the Dietary Manager at Bel-Air Manor, looks on as resident Mrs. Passan tries the homemade soup. When Amber started at Bel-Air Manor, she introduced many new menu items, from comfort food to heart-healthy entrees. Residents got to taste-test the entrees and give thumbs’s up or thumb’s down. Mealtimes are one of the most important times of day for residents, so providing tasty, healthful meals in a pleasant, social setting, is a top priority at all Ryders nursing facilities.

    Resident Councils ensure that residents have a voice in decisions that impact their quality of life. Quality means listening to residents, giving them autonomy and choices as often as possible regarding diet, leisure activities, and other aspects of their care.

    The second picture was taken during Pranzo Bella, a special event where the Bel-Air Manor staff served the residents a special meal from gourmet appetizers to dessert, accompanied by music. Staff enjoyed the event as much as the residents! Staff members consistently go above and beyond and give from the heart to ensure that residents are comfortable, participate in interesting activities, and that all needs — physical, emotional or spiritual – are met.

    Exceptional caring leads to exceptional quality of life for all residents at all Ryders nursing facilities.

  • At Ryders Health Management nursing facilities, Quality = Exceptional Caring. Periodically, we will share a picture that captures how Ryders’ employees strive every day to provide exceptional caring and exceptional quality. Mrs. Dee Miller, RN (at left) and Ms. Liz Burnhauser, RN (at right), both Lord Chamberlain Nursing & Rehabilitation Center nurses, exemplify the caliber of employees who lead the way to Ryders’ standards of excellence. Recently, Mrs. Miller and Ms. Burnhauser were honored with Nightingale Awards.

    The Nightingale Award for Excellence in Nursing celebrates outstanding nurses. Nominees “should have made a significant impact on patient care and/or the nursing profession; gone ‘beyond the call’ in a clearly illustrated way, demonstrated excellence or achieved a life-long legacy in a particular arena.”
    Congratulations to Mrs. Miller and Ms. Burnhauser for your commitment to excellence and providing outstanding, kind, and compassionate care to residents.
